This specimen was lot 11111 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,251). The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 8 Skilling, 1685. Christiania mint. Christian V. NGC VF-35. Unusual and desirable one-year type From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This design never went into production. The half mark or eight skilling was not a regularly issued denomination during this reign. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.
