from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11046

This specimen was lot 11046 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €2,040 (about US$2,126). The catalog description^[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Mark, 1659. Christiania mint. Frederik III. NGC AU-50. Scarce and interesting variation with clover mintmark and 'AO' in front of date. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale-1922)." This type was struck 1649-62 and is scarce. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.
