Stack's Bowers 2021 NYINC sale, lot 24364

This specimen was lot 24364 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $110. The catalog description^[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Cent, 1899. Utrecht Mint; privy mark: halberd. Wilhelmina. PCGS MS-65 Brown Gold Shield. KM-107.2. Featuring deep, chocolate brown surfaces, this Gem dazzles the eye and offers a hint of mint red remaining in a few spots." This type was struck 1892-1900. Other than the date, it is indistinguishable from those struck 1877-84 for William III.

Recorded mintage: 5,100,000, a common date.

Specification: 2.5 g, bronze, 19 mm diameter.
