This specimen was lot 24362 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. 2-1/2 Cents, 1898. Utrecht Mint; privy mark: halberd. Wilhelmina. PCGS MS-64 Brown Gold Shield. Though mostly brown in appearance, this delightful near-Gem features some red brilliance further highlighting the devices." This type was struck 1890, 1894 and 1898. Other than the date, it is indistinguishable from those struck 1877-86 for William III.
Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.
