This specimen was lot 305 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it sold for €90 (about US$127 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KONINKRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN - WILLEM I 1815-40. 1/2 Cent, 1822 Gekroonde letter W tussen jaartal. TYPE I a Mmt. fakkel, mt. mercuriusstaf. Utrechtse slag., Copper Minuscuul defect in het plaatje, grotendeels originele muntkleur. Prachtig +. (kingdom of the Netherlands, William I, 1815-40, half cent of 1822. Obverse: crowned monogram divides the date. Mintmarks torch and Mercury's staff, struck at Utrecht, copper, tiny planchet defect, considerable original toning, choice extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Utrecht and Brussels 1821-33 and 1837. The type was struck with little change 1841-77 but reduced in weight in 1877.

Recorded mintage: 11,240,000, the second highest mintage.

Specification: 1.92 g, copper, 16 mm diameter.
