This specimen is one a type issued since the reform of the Mexican peso in 1992 (one new peso = 100 old pesos). The design was modified slightly in 1996 to drop the "N" in front of the "$" but is otherwise unchanged.
Recorded mintage: 209,214,000.
Specification: 7.07 g, Stainless steel ring with aluminum-bronze center, 25.5 mm diameter.
