This specimen was lot 72371 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 100 Pesos, 2011-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-69 Gold Shield. Bimetallic type; struck in silver/aluminum-bronze. A virtually flawless coin that features the recreation of an important 20th century issue as the focal design. A very collectible issue as such." This specimen is one of a series issued by the Mexico City mint to honor famous Mexican coins of the past, in this case the Caballito peso, which was struck 1910-14.

Recorded mintage: 8,000.

Specifications: 33.94 g, brass outer ring with 0.925 fine silver center, .500 troy oz ASW, 39.0 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
