This specimen was lot 77618 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $3,240. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Gold Onza, 2011-Mo. Mexican (Potosi) Mint. NGC MS-70." The gold libertad was first struck in 1981 and was redesigned as shown here in 2000. The 2014 is the last date shown in the SCWC but Numista lists dates as recent as 2023. They were also sold in half, quarter, tenth and 1/20 ounce sizes.

Recorded mintage: 3,000 plus 1,100 proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 34.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
