This specimen was lot 3657 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $164.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 1/10 Onza, 2010. Libertad. Only 600 struck. NGC graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo." In 1982, the mint of Mexico introduced the silver Libertad to great success and extended it with 1/10, 1/4, half, two and five ounce versions. The sales of gold libertads have not been so overwhelming and some are now rare. This one, first minted in 2002, is scarce.
Recorded mintage: 4,500 plus 600 proofs.
Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, .100 troy oz AGW, 16 mm diameter.
