This specimen was minted 1997-98 as a bullion coin as an alternate to the Libertad series which was not selling well. There is a considerable number of types issued to honor various aspects of Mexican culture and history. Most have small mintages.
Recorded mintage: 3,400 plus 500 proofs.
Specification: 31.1 g, 0.999 fine silver, 1.000 troy oz ASW.
