This specimen was lot 72909 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Pesos, 1999//2000-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. Struck to commemorate the Millennium Series, featuring the Butterfly." This is one of several one ounce silver coins issued to mark the turning of the millennium.
Recorded mintage: 47,435 proofs.
