Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 39366

This specimen was lot 39366 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Pesos, 1999-Mo. Mexican (Potosi) Mint. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo." Five pesos of 1999 include KM 605 (bimetallic), KM 635 (shown here), KM 640 (UNICEF), KM 630 (butterfly), KM 631 (hand) and KM 632 (eagle and serpents). The bark Cuauhtemoc, launched in 1982, serves as a training vessel for the Mexican navy. Similar ships sail for Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.
