Mexico 1992 50 centavos

This specimen is one of a type issued 1992-2009 as part of the reform of the peso in 1992 (one new peso = 100 old pesos). When it was introduced, one dollar was about three pesos; today (September 2026), US$1 = 19.6 pesos. The superseding type, KM 936, is stainless steel and reduced weight.

Recorded mintage: 120,150,000.

Specification: 4.39 g, aluminum bronze, 22 mm diameter, scalloped edge.
