This specimen was lot 42754 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2-1/2 Pesos, 1947. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-65. AGW: 0.0603 oz." This type was struck at the Mexico City mint 1916-20, 1944-48 and restruck in 1945. The SCWC notes that the 1947 is the key date.
Recorded mintage: 24,000.
Specification: 2.08 g, 0.900 fine gold, 15.5 mm diameter, 0.060 troy oz AGW.
