The first specimen was lot 4473 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. Real, 1809-Mo TH. Ferdinand VII. Armored laureate bust right. Striking weakness in lettering, otherwise a choice example with lovely original brilliant mint luster. NGC graded MS-62." The "imaginary bust" type was struck in Mexico City 1809-14, after which the standard bust of Ferdinand VII was adopted.
