Luzern 1814 5 batzen
This specimen was part of lot 5382 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$565 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ. Luzern. Stadt und Kanton. 5 Batzen 1813, Luzern. 5 Batzen 1814. Beide schräg gerippter Rand. Lot von 2 Stück. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Luzern, five batzen of 1813 and 1814, Luzern mint. Obliquely reeded edge, About Uncirculated, two pieces.)"
This type was struck 1813-14 and is affordable in circulated condition. It was one-eighth of a thaler or half a franc. The 1813 shows up about twice as often as the 1814.
