Fribourg 1814 5 batzen
This specimen was lot 5175 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 160 CHF (about US$241 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, 5 Batzen 1814, Freiburg. Schräg geriffelter Rand. Fast FDC. Kleiner Stempelbruch. (Switzerland, city and canton of Fribourg, five batzen of 1814, Fribourg mint, obliquely reeded edge. About Mint State, Small die break.)"
This type was struck 1811 and 1814; the 1814 is the scarcer date. Forty batzen made a thaler. The last cantonal issue was a 2½ rappen of 1846 (KM 91).
