Künker sale 264, lot 3877

This specimen was lot 3877 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LÜBECK Freie und Hansestadt. 10 Mark 1910. Prachtexemplar. Erstabschlag, Stempelglanz. (Germany, city of Lubeck, ten mark of 1910, proof.)"

This gold ten mark superseded an earlier type of 1901 and 1904 with a slightly different obverse. This type was issued 1905-10 yet is rare. All of Lubeck's reform coinage was minted in Berlin.

Recorded mintage: 10,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 3.98 g, 0.900 fine gold.
