This specimen was lot 4089 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €3,600 (about US$4,852 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REICHSGOLDMÜNZEN, LÜBECK, Freie und Hansestadt. 10 Mark 1909. Polierte Platte. (unified gold coinage, free city of Lubeck, ten mark of 1909, proof.)"
This gold ten mark superseded an earlier type of 1901 and 1904 with a slightly different obverse. This type was issued 1905-10 yet is rare. All of Lubeck's reform coinage was minted in Berlin.
