This specimen was lot 673 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $4,406.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Lippe-Detmold. Taler, 1713-BHL. Friedrich Adolf (1697-1718). NGC AU Details--Surface Hairlines. RARE. From a mintage of only 2,057 pieces." This type is listed for 1712-13 and is the most common of six different thalers struck for this state 1712-14. It is still quite expensive.
