Jean Elsen sale 158, lot 1123

This specimen was lot 1123 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it sold for €240 (about US$312 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"LIEGE, Principauté, Jean de Hornes (1485-1505), AR patard, 1486, Maastricht (?). Différent: étoile au droit et croisette au revers. D/ Ecu de Hornes entouré de flammèches, sous des nuées. R/ + SI DEVS NOBS'C' QVIS CO'T' NOS 86 Croix fleuronnée. Défauts de flan. Patine foncée. presque Très Beau. Provient de la collection A. Symkens, Liège, 25 novembre 1991. (prince-bishopric of Liège, John of Hoorn, 1485-1505, silver patard of 1486, probably Maastricht mint, star privy mark on the obverse and a crosslet on the reverse. Obverse: arms of Hoorn surrounded by flames, some clouds above; reverse: floriate cross. Flan defects, nice patina, about Very Fine.)"
