This specimen was lot 20405 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAPAN. 10 Sen, Year 7 (1874). Mutsuhito (Meiji). PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. This delightful minor presents mostly argent surfaces with a good deal of brilliance and some hints of golden-olive green nearest the peripheries." This type was minted 1873-1906 in large numbers and many dates are common. This one is listed as scarce despite the large mintage.
