The first specimen was lot 24135 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAPAN. 10 Sen, Year 8 (1875). Mutsuhito (Meiji). PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. Type I. (PCGS insert incorrect with Type II). A lovely, fully lustrous coin with pleasing original surfaces and a hint of toning." This ten sen was struck for the Meiji emperor 1873-77, 1880, 1885-88, 1891-1906. This is a common date, divided by "sen connected" and "sen not connected" varieties. The "not connected" variety obtains a premium.
