This specimen was lot 42425 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. 20 Lire, 1862-T. Turin Mint. Vittorio Emanuele II. ABOUT UNCIRCULATED." This specimen is one of a series struck 1861-70 at the Turin mint during the reign of Victorio Emanuele II of Italy (1861-78). It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French twenty francs. It is not the highest mintage date but is common. This type was also struck in Rome (1870-78) and Milan (1872-74).

Recorded mintage: 1,955,000.

Specification: 6.45 g, 0.900 fine gold.
