This specimen was lot 2672 in Goldberg sale 109 (Los Angeles, January 2019), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States: Kingdom of Italy. Centesimi, 1813-M. Copper. Napoleon I. Head left. Reverse: Crown. NGC graded MS-64 Red & Brown." The issues of the Napoleonic kingdom of Italy were meant to match the French franc Germinal, altho no copper was being minted in France at this time. This type was struck at Bologna (C1.1 struck 1807-12), Milan (C1.2, struck 1807-13) and Venice (C1.3, struck 1807-13). Gigante divides the Milan issues into two types, this second type being struck 1811-13.

Recorded mintage: 3,719,864.

Specification: copper, 19.5 mm diameter, 2.1 g, plain edge.
