Stephen Album sale 38, lot 3506

This specimen was lot 3506 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $101.15. The catalog description[1] noted, "NAPOLEONIC KINGDOM: Napoleon I, 1804-1814, AE centesimo, 1810-V (1/0 overdate), lustrous with traces of red, PCGS graded MS63 RB." The issues of the Napoleonic kingdom of Italy were meant to match the French franc Germinal, altho no copper was being minted in France at this time. This type was struck at Bologna (C1.1 struck 1807-12), Milan (C1.2, struck 1807-13) and Venice (C1.3, struck 1807-13). Gigante divides the Milan issues into two types, the second type being struck 1811-13.

Recorded mintage: 267,339, a scarce date.

Specification: copper, 19.5 mm diameter, 2.1 g, plain edge.
