Italy 1808-M centesimo
This specimen was lot 1315 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $329. The catalog description[1] noted, "KINGDOM OF ITALY: Napoleon I, 1804-1814, AE centesimo, Milan, 1808-M, Cr-1.2, much original red luster present, NGC graded MS64 RB." The issues of the Napoleonic kingdom of Italy were meant to match the French franc Germinal, altho no copper was being minted in France at this time. This type was struck at Bologna (C1.1 struck 1807-12), Milan (C1.2, struck 1807-13) and Venice (C1.3, struck 1807-13). This date is known with a rare IMPERAPORE error.
