This specimen was lot 1800 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. New Sheqel, 1996. Wildlife. Nightingale and fig tree. Only 912 struck. Choice Brilliant Proof." This NCLT was accompanied by a silver new sheqel (KM 290). Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.
