This specimen was lot 24175 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISRAEL. 5 New Sheqalim, 1995. NGC PROOF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. Medicine in Israel. From a mintage of only 1,147 pieces. Hard mirror fields with frosted cameo devices." Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985. This NCLT was accompanied by a gold 10 new sheqalim (KM 266), 2 new sheqalim (KM 264), a silver new sheqel (KM 263) and an aluminum-bronze half sheqel (KM 392).

Recorded mintage: 1,147 proofs.

Specification: 8.63 g, 0.900 fine gold, 22 mm diameter.
