This specimen was lot 3607 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $616.87. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. 10 New Sheqalim, 1994. Independence Day. Environment. World globe within flower. Choice Brilliant Proof." This commemorative is a product of the Pretoria mint. Similar ten sheqalim were struck 1986-95. Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.

Recorded mintage: 1,482 proofs.

Specification: 17.28 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.500 ounce AGW, 30 mm diameter.
