This specimen was lot 76572 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 2 Pahlavi, SH 1307 (1928). Tehran Mint. Reza Pahlavi. NGC AU-53. A SCARCE type, this most appealing and nearly Mint State Pahlavi delivers sharp and impressive eye appeal, with good brilliance and much allure." This type was struck AH 1306-1308. Later, the pahlavi was reformed to match the British sovereign. SH = Solar Hegira calendar.

Recorded mintage: 7,000.

Specification: 3.83 g, 0.900 fine gold, 20 mm diameter.
