This specimen was lot 46785 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 2000 Dinars (2 Kran), SH 1306 (1927)-L. St. Petersburg (Leningrad) Mint. Reza Shah. PCGS MS-62." This type was struck SH1306-1308 but is seldom seen. SH = Solar Hegira calendar. The "L" mintmark was for London, not Leningrad.
Recorded mintage: 7,500,000 plus 11,714,000 from Heaton (mintmark "H") plus more without mintmark.
Specification: 9.21 g, 0.900 fine silver.
