This specimen was lot 76584 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 5000 Dinars, SH 1306 (1927)-H. Birmingham (Heaton) Mint. Reza Pahlavi. NGC AU-58. Only displaying the lightest touches of handling, this appealing issue is pleasing, with soft brilliance and a nearly uncirculated appeal." This type was struck SH1306-1308 but is seldom seen. SH = Solar Hegira calendar.

Recorded mintage: 4,711,000 plus 3,000,000 from Leningrad.

Specification: 23.02 g, 0.900 fine silver, 36 mm diameter.
