This specimen was lot 1425 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $1,292. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 2 Annas, 1936-(b). NGC PROOF-63." The two annas, originally a silver coin (KM 515) was switched to copper-nickel in 1918 and struck to this design until 1936. Similar two annas were struck for George VI until 1947. The administration also attempted to circulate copper-nickel four and eight annas but failed.

Recorded mintage: 36,295,000.
