India 1913(b) 2 annas
This specimen was lot 71684 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 2 Annas, 1913-(B). Bombay Mint. PCGS MS-65+ Gold Shield. This sublime Gem presents satiny surfaces that are further accentuated by a subtly iridescent tone and some emerging brilliance." This two annas was struck at the Bombay mint before World War One. The type was struck 1912-17 and is common in all grades but still makes a handsome coin in nice condition. It was converted to copper-nickel in 1918 and struck in that alloy until 1941.
