Stephen Album sale 37, lot 2914

This specimen was lot 2914 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: George V, 1910-1936, AE ¼ anna, 1913 (c), scarce date in mint state, PCGS graded MS63 RB, S." This quarter anna was struck at the Calcutta mint before World War One. The type was struck 1912-36 and is common in all grades but still makes a handsome coin in nice condition. The Bombay mint also struck this type but only in 1924-28, 1930 and 1936. A quarter anna was one sixty fourth of a rupee.

Recorded mintage: 82,061,000 + proofs.
