This specimen was lot 24061 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 2 Annas, 1907-(C). Calcutta Mint. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. A lustrous little coin with hints of almond toning in the peripheries." The two annas was the smallest silver coin struck during the Raj and was equal to 1/8 rupee; it was superseded by a copper-nickel coin in 1918. All the Edward VII issues were struck at Calcutta except for a few made at Bombay in 1909.
