Steve Album sale 54, lot 904

This specimen was lot 904 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY: Maria Theresa, 1740-1780, AR thaler, 1756-KB, uneven deep tone, Madonna and Child, VF." This type was struck 1751-65 for Maria Theresia and is common. Another thaler, Dav-1157, featured the bust of her husband, Francis I.

Recorded mintage: 264,000.

Specification: 28.82 g, 0.875 fine silver.
