Künker Auction 441, lot 4847

This specimen was lot 4847 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €500 (about US$688 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Konv.-Taler 1755 KB, Kremnitz. Sehr schön +. Aus der Sammlung eines sächsischen Naturwissenschaftlers. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, convention thaler of 1755, Kremnitz mint. Very fine or better.)"

This type was struck 1751-65 for Maria Theresia, queen of Hungary, and is common. Another thaler, Dav-1157, featured the bust of her husband, Francis I.

Recorded mintage: 262,000.
