Sincona sale 63, lot 1594

This specimen was lot 1594 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,253 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Dukat 1755, Wien. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, ducat of 1755, Vienna mint. Rare, Good very fine.)"

Friedberg lists this type for 1745-65 from Vienna (shown here), Prague, Graz and Hall. For some reason, this common type is missing from the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.45 g.
