This specimen was lot 30151 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $4,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Holland. Provincial 1/2 Ducaton 1767 MS66 NGC, A stunningly radiant selection that defies the odds of time, preserving consistently sharp features to match its dazzling and wholistic brilliance. A soft merlot tone decorates the peripheries to only further heighten this gem's aesthetic appeal. From the Cape Coral Collection of European Crowns." This type, rather scarcer than the full ducaton, was struck 1765-67, 1770-77, 1780, 1788-92.
