Schulman sale 347, lot 241

This specimen was lot 245 in Schulmand sale 347 (Amsterdam, April 2015), where it sold for €1,600 (about US$2,079 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "piedfort dukaton of zilveren rijder. 1693. dordrecht. type iia. Ruiter naar rechts boven provinciewapentje mo: no: aRg: con – fOE: Belg: pRo: hol stadsschild van dordrecht. Jaartal op keerzijde in cartouche onder het wapen, roosje boven de kroon. gladde rand. RRR. lichte randschade vz. Zeer fraai + /Vrijwel prachtig. uit collectie Wijdenes Spaans." The SCWC notes that the regular issue runs 1672-94 and 1716-21. Double ducatons are listed for 1671-93.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
