This specimen was lot 1165 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $117.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "HANNOVER: AR 3 mariengroschen, 1820, mintmaster LB, PCGS graded MS64+, ex Don Erickson Collection." This denomination was struck in many styles 1816-21 for George III and George IV. It was superseded by the 1/12 thaler, a coin of the same face value.
Recorded mintage: 12,000,000 for 1818-21.
