This specimen was lot 5741 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €130 (about US$181 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg III. 1760-1820. 3 Mariengroschen 1818, CHH. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Erworben von der Firma Karl-Ludwig Grabow, Berlin. (Germany, kingdom of Hannover, George III, 1760-1820, three mariengroschen of 1818. Choice example, about uncirculated.)"
This denomination was struck in the kingdom 1816-21 in several styles. The mintage given below is likely for the entire production run, not just one year. The kingdom was annexed by Prussia in 1866 and the coinage ceased, altho the mint remained open until 1879.
