This specimen was lot 74554 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $488. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hannover. 16 Gute Groschen, 1820. Georg IV (George IV of Great Britain). NGC MS-62. Variety with "CONV . MÜNZE" on the reverse." This denomination, worth half a convention thaler, was struck in numerous varieties (KM 121.1, KM 121.2, KM 122, KM 123, KM 124) in 1820. The kingdom was annexed by Prussia in 1866 and the coinage ceased, altho the mint remained open until 1879.
