This specimen was lot 47130 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Hannover. 3 Mariengroschen, 1821-LB. Georg IV. PCGS MS-65." This denomination was struck in many styles 1816-21 for George III and George IV. It was superseded by the 1/12 thaler, a coin of the same face value. This example realized 3½ times the catalog value.
