This specimen was lot 74583 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 12 Mariengroschen (1/3 Taler), 1780-CES. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg III (George III of Great Britain). PCGS MS-61. Deeply toned and with a slight degree of frosting upon the devices, this minor offers elegant appeal and is a great survivor of the type. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Ex: Peus 311, Lot # 2737 (with ticket)." This type was struck 1762-84 for George III.
