This specimen was lot 5724 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €600 (about US$835 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg II. 1727-1760. Reichstaler 1760, Clausthal. Ausbeute der Grube St. Andreas. Feine Tönung, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 35, Osnabrück 1997, Nr. 1900. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George II, 1727-60, thaler of 1760, Clausthal mint, for the St. Andrew mine. Fine toning, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck continuously 1730-60 and is one of the common thalers from this state.
