This specimen was lot 73607 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1734-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-55. Dav-434; KM-229; Welter-2580. An appealing example with dove-gray color embellished with champagne highlights that serve to emphasize the design and lettering elements. Well-struck with just a hint of weakness in one small area of the reverse and very light wear. Attractive. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1730-43 with mintmaster IAB serving 1731-38 and is the most common for the date. Other gulden for 1734 include KM 227 (1734-CPS, leaping stallion, scarce).
