This specimen was lot 73606 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1733-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). PCGS AU-58. Deep lilac gray surfaces interplay with vivid gold toning on the obverse and with subtler shades of cobalt and gold on the reverse. A very well struck coin with bold devices and legends; no weak areas and just the merest hint of wear. Very attractive. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Ex: Dr. Busso Peus Nachfolger auction (with ticket)." This type was struck 1730-43 with mintmaster IAB serving 1731-38 and is the most common for the date. Other gulden for 1733 include KM 227 (1733-CPS, leaping stallion, scarce) and KM 228 (1733-IAB, leaping stallion, rare).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: Dav-434; KM-229; Welter-2580.
